• JapanExisting-store sales rose 11.6%. EDION says a warm April–May brought the air-conditioner season about a month early: order-based sales of air conditioners rose 39.4% and TVs 8.6%, while PCs fell 11.3%, which it puts down to last year's replacement buying and higher memory prices.
• InboundSales to overseas visitors were 100.3% of a year earlier, roughly flat, the company says. Sales on its own e-commerce site rose 10%.
• StoresEDION ended June with 1,179 stores: 454 run directly and 725 franchised. It opened EDION Homes Kasai in Tokyo in June and relocated or rebuilt three stores, including EDION Okayama Honten. Four directly run stores in Kumamoto were damaged in the July 2026 earthquake and are reopening once confirmed safe.
• JapanOn 5 June EDION and Yamada Holdings signed a basic agreement to integrate under a joint holding company on an equal footing. They plan to sign a final agreement, setting the share ratio, in May–June 2027, with the integration taking effect on 1 October 2027.
• JapanLatest month: in September 2026 order-based sales rose 3.0% across all stores; air conditioners rose 3.1% and PCs fell 59.8%. For April–September, sales were up 9.3%, with air conditioners up 33.8% and PCs down 32.1%.
