JapanZoff's existing-store sales rose 11.0% in the half (all shops +16.0%). The company credits collaborations, a TV campaign with Ren Meguro and demand for UV and light-reactive lenses; June slowed to +0.1% on typhoons and bad weather.
InboundMeganesuper's contact-lens sales grew on spring new-life demand and on spending by foreign visitors, the company says. It gives no inbound or tax-free sales figure for Zoff or Meganesuper.
StoresAt end-June it had 345 Zoff shops (14 opened, 1 closed) and 302 Meganesuper shops in Japan, plus 17 franchised Zoff shops in Hong Kong and 3 in Singapore, which it took over from its franchisee in June.
JapanZoff has since slowed: existing-store sales fell 11.5% in July, 6.7% in August and 2.9% in September (all shops +2.2%). The company cites a high bar from last year's promotions and bad weather in August, and record low sunshine and typhoons in September. It had 351 Zoff shops at end-September.
