JapanJapan eyewear sales rose 10.5% to ¥84.71bn but segment profit fell 18.6% to ¥9.24bn. Existing Japan shops grew 5.3% for the year (all shops +11.1%) but fell 1.2% in June–August. For missing its forecast the company cites bad weather, a long-running supply problem with some high-priced lenses and currency moves.
InboundThe company says about 80% of visitors to JINS Ginza, its first global flagship, are inbound tourists, and that both Ginza and the roughly 1,000㎡ JINS Shinjuku beat their plans. For inbound demand it offers glasses handed over in as little as 30 minutes.
