• JapanDomestic e-commerce gross merchandise sales — Rakuten Ichiba, Rakuten Travel, Rakuten Fashion, Rakuten Books and other Japanese services combined — rose 5.3% to ¥1,532.2bn in the April–June quarter, according to its results presentation.
• InboundRakuten says use of Rakuten Travel by foreign visitors to Japan kept growing and domestic travel bookings held up, giving a large rise in travel revenue and profit. Travel transaction value rose 17.2% in April–June, with domestic up 10.0% and global up 78.5%.

• OutlookFor 2026 Rakuten aims for high-single-digit revenue growth and to be in profit on non-GAAP operating profit, pre-tax profit and profit for the year. Its fintech reorganisation took effect on 1 October; it expects to book about ¥23bn of income-tax expense in the third quarter as a result.
