Sanyo Shokai sells most of its clothing through department stores, a channel it says keeps shrinking as regional stores close. In March–August 2026 its sales fell 4.0% to ¥26.0bn as store numbers fell and walk-in shoppers stayed scarce, though existing customers spent more and inbound sales recovered; it posted an operating loss of ¥0.5bn and a net loss of ¥0.6bn, but kept its forecast of a ¥2.1bn full-year operating profit.
