• JapanGroup same-store sales rose 0.9% in the quarter: customer numbers fell 1.7% and spend per customer rose 2.7%. June fell 4.4%; the company blames unseasonable weather, which hit summer goods from sunscreen at its drugstores to drinks at its Direx discount stores.
• InboundSundrug gives no tax-free sales figure. It says store sales were held back by cold medicines and lower tax-free sales, with inbound demand down on travel restrictions, while wholesale of goods aimed at inbound shoppers was strong and lifted sales above plan.
• StoresIt opened 6 stores, closed 3 and refurbished 33 in the quarter, ending June with 1,597: 1,157 drugstores and 440 Direx discount stores. Its monthly report shows 1,600 stores at end-September; the full-year plan is 100 openings and 20 closures.
• JapanIts latest monthly figures show group same-store sales up 0.4% in September 2026 and 0.6% for April–September; for the half, drugstore same-store sales were down 0.1% and Direx's up 1.6%.
