ASICS runs its own pickleball court for the first time, a 10-day Nihonbashi pop-up
ASICS Japan has opened a 10-day pickleball pop-up in Nihonbashi that it runs itself — its first brand-operated urban court, rather than sponsoring someone else's, with free shoe fittings built into every session.

ASICS Japan has opened its first brand-run urban pickleball venue, a 10-day pop-up called ASICS PICKLEBALL CONNECT at Fukutoku no Mori in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, the company said. The venue runs from 18 to 27 September, next to Fukutoku Shrine and a short walk from Mitsukoshimae and Shin-Nihonbashi stations.
The single court is free to use, first-come with no reservation, and ASICS is lending paddles and other equipment at no charge. Groups of up to 10 people rotate through roughly 10-minute sessions — five minutes at busier times — with staff on hand to explain the rules and coach technique. The event is open to all ages, though children need an adult with them.
ASICS is also offering free rental and fitting of two of its pickleball shoe models, the GAME FF PICKLEBALL and the SOLUTION SPEED FF 4, in sizes from 22.5cm to 30cm.
The distinction from ASICS's earlier pickleball moves is the operating model, not the sport. The company has already put its name on the game as official partner of Sansan's dedicated court in Ikebukuro; running its own venue, in a high-visibility public space in central Tokyo, is a step from lending a logo to owning the experience. The shoe fitting is the real mechanism here — a pop-up built to put unfamiliar product on unfamiliar feet, in one of the fastest-growing racquet sports on the Japan retail floor, during the ten days it takes to gather the data on whether that works.
