Ferragamo opens a new men's shop at Hankyu Men's Tokyo

Ferragamo's new men's shop at Hankyu Men's Tokyo puts the Florentine maison's shoes and leather goods inside one of Japan's few menswear-only department stores, a format built for exactly the kind of purchase — fit, leather quality — that resists e-commerce.

Ferragamo opened a new men's shop on the third floor of Hankyu Men's Tokyo on 18 September, Hankyu Hanshin Department Stores said in a release announcing the store.

The shop carries the Florentine maison's shoes, bags, leather goods, belts and sunglasses, blending what Hankyu Hanshin describes as classic elegance with contemporary silhouettes and materials. Listed pieces include the Grandioso shoe at ¥137,500 and the Alfie shoe at ¥148,500, and the Twins and Hug bags at ¥363,000 each, according to the release.

Hankyu Men's Tokyo, near Ginza and Yurakucho, is one of the few Japanese department stores built to sell only menswear, competing for the same wealthy male shopper that Ginza's flagship maisons already chase from across the tracks. Giving Ferragamo — a house built on shoes and leather goods rather than ready-to-wear — a dedicated shop inside that format plays to the brand's strength in a category men actually buy in a physical store, where fit and leather quality are harder to judge online.
