Philip Morris picks Ginza, not New York or London, for IQOS's first global flagship

Philip Morris Japan will close its existing Ginza IQOS store on 30 August and reopen days later as IQOS Flagship Ginza, which it calls IQOS's first global flagship anywhere, ahead of any store in the US or Europe.

Philip Morris Japan will close the existing IQOS Store Ginza on 30 August 2026 and, five days later, open a new flagship on the same patch of the district: IQOS Flagship Ginza, which the company says is the first store anywhere that Philip Morris International (PMI) designates a "global flagship" for IQOS, its heated-tobacco device platform, according to a statement from Philip Morris Japan G.K. published via PR TIMES. The new store opens on Friday, 4 September, at 11am, at the Ginza Yomiko Building, 1-8-14 Ginza, Chuo-ku.
