Ami Premium Outlets borrows a release-week film franchise for a four-month run, pairing a QR stamp rally with tie-in menus at five stores ahead of the holiday season.

Mitsubishi Estate Simon Co., Ltd. (三菱地所・サイモン株式会社) said its Ami Premium Outlets (あみプレミアム・アウトレット) in Ibaraki Prefecture is running a four-month tie-in with the film Godzilla-0.0 (ゴジラ-0.0), timed to the title's November 3 release, according to a November 2 announcement. The campaign carries the title, roughly, "Godzilla returns to Ibaraki" (茨城にゴジラ、再び。) -- floortok's rendering of the Japanese -- and runs from November 3 through February 28, 2027, with the mall closed for its regular annual holiday on February 25.

A stamp rally sends visitors to three posters around the roughly 160-brand outlet centre, each carrying a QR code; scanning all three earns a randomly selected Ibaraki Prefecture sticker -- one design pairs Mount Tsukuba and the Ushiku Daibutsu statue, the other shows Godzilla moving across Lake Kasumigaura -- plus a smartphone wallpaper, while supplies last, the company said.

Five tenants are running tie-in menus and goods. Crazy Crepes is selling a Godzilla Crepe (black crepe with chocolate, brownie, Oreo and a strawberry-sauce "heat ray") at ¥800, alongside a Godzilla Black Coffee at ¥650 and a Godzilla Heat Ray Lime Soda at ¥700; tableware shop Tachikichi (たち吉) is selling 23cm Godzilla chopsticks at ¥1,430, limited to three pairs a customer. Mitsubishi Estate Simon said Ami Colle! (あみ観光物産館), Kobe Motomachi Doria (神戸元町ドリア) and Yamashita Honki Udon (山下本気うどん) are also taking part, without detailing their items.

A Promotion-led move for an outlet mall whose core draw is price, not entertainment: borrowing a release-week film franchise for a four-month run is a low-cost way to pull repeat visits through the holiday season, each one a fresh excuse to walk the same roughly 160 stores. The release notes the mall isn't a filming location for the film -- the tie-in is licensing, not provenance -- and gives no indication the campaign extends to Mitsubishi Estate Simon's other Premium Outlets centres.
