Nagoya Takashimaya runs a Snoopy festival with a build-your-own keychain bar
JR Nagoya Takashimaya's 10th-floor Snoopy festival runs October 7-19 with Nagoya-exclusive merchandise and a ¥3,960 keychain-customisation bar — the kind of dated, ticketed draw a department store uses to pull shoppers past the escalators.

JR Tokai Takashimaya said it is running a Snoopy-themed festival, organised with Sook Company, on the 10th-floor exhibition space of its Nagoya store from October 7 to 19, according to a release dated October 3.
The event's centrepiece is a customisation bar called "Mix your3," where visitors combine three Snoopy artwork choices with venue-exclusive tags to build a personalised keychain for ¥3,960. Exclusive merchandise includes Nagoya-motif pin badges at ¥825, a hand-dyed tenugui cloth at ¥1,870 and a blind-item umbrella-marker set at ¥495, alongside figurines made in collaboration with artist Romero Britto priced from ¥5,500 to ¥27,060. A tie-in sweets line from confectioner Riviere includes Snoopy-decorated langue de chat cookies at ¥2,700 and a chocolate-chip variant at ¥1,944, the release said.
A character festival on a department store's upper floor is a well-worn device, but the mechanics are worth noting: a build-your-own activity priced above ¥3,000, a roster of items spanning under ¥500 to over ¥20,000, and a run of under two weeks are all built to pull a shopper up through the building and give them more than one reason to buy on the way — the kind of footfall engineering that matters most on a floor with no everyday reason to visit.
