Pola turns its hotel amenity line into a five-piece bedtime ritual
Pola is relaunching Aroma Esse, the hotel and ryokan amenity brand it has placed in more than 4,500 Japanese facilities, as 'Aroma Esse Ritual' — adding a sleeping mask and pillow mist to a line that used to stop at the shower.

Pola said it will relaunch Aroma Esse, its hotel and ryokan amenity brand, as "Aroma Esse Ritual" from 1 September, adding a sleeping mask and a pillow mist to a lineup that had previously covered shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The brand is already installed in more than 4,500 facilities nationwide as of the end of 2025, according to the company.
The new items are formulated around blended essential oils, which Pola said are designed to deliver natural fragrance and a rich texture, extending the brand's reach from the bath into the moments before sleep. The company framed the relaunch around what it called "wellness-oriented stays": guest expectations, it said, have broadened from the stay itself to the whole experience around it, with rising interest in wellness and retreat activities centred on rest and mind-body balance.
A hotel amenity bottle is one of the few beauty-brand touchpoints a guest doesn't choose to encounter — it sits in the bathroom whether or not they were shopping for it, which makes the amenity channel a quiet trial mechanism as much as a supply contract. Stretching a three-item kit into five, with two products meant for the bedside rather than the shower, pushes Aroma Esse closer to the shape of an at-home skincare routine than a disposable toiletry set. Pola disclosed no pricing and named no specific hotel partners for the new items, so how far the group is willing to push this beyond its existing 4,500-facility base, and whether it can convert bedside familiarity into full-size retail sales, is not yet answered by the announcement itself.
