floortok's store directory lists brand names and floors from each store's own official floor guide, with a link to it. This page explains where the lists come from, how we collect them, and how to have something corrected or removed.
What we show
For each building we show which brands are on which floor, as listed in the building's own official floor guide, with the date we read it and a link to the official floor map. We do not use floor-plan images, photographs, logos, descriptive text or a store's own category scheme.
Changes between our monthly readings are shown as "newly listed" or "no longer listed in the official guide". A brand that is no longer listed may have moved, been renamed or closed; we say "closed" only when the store or brand has announced it.
How we collect it
We read each official floor guide about once a month with an automated reader that identifies itself as "floortok-directory" and links to this page. It reads one page every few seconds, follows each site's robots.txt, and stops if a site declines access. It never logs in, never disguises itself as a browser and never works around a block. When a site declines, we show only a link to its official floor map.
Corrections and opt-out
If something is wrong, or if you operate a building and would prefer that we show only a link to your official floor map, email hello@floortok.com. We correct errors as soon as we can, and we act on operator requests within five working days.
Independence
floortok is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any building, store operator or brand listed in the directory. Brand and store names are used only to say where a brand trades.
