BEAMS marks 10 straight years of its Pink Ribbon campaign across 121 stores

BEAMS is running the 10th straight year of its Pink Ribbon campaign across 121 stores, putting breast self-check signage in 352 fitting rooms rather than confining the message to a seasonal display — a floor-level commitment that has outlasted most corporate awareness campaigns.

BEAMS is running the 10th consecutive edition of its Pink Ribbon breast-cancer-awareness campaign across 121 stores nationwide through October 31, the Japanese select-shop chain said in a release dated October 1.

The chain is putting the awareness prompt directly on the shop floor this year: signage encouraging breast self-checks is going up in 352 fitting rooms across the 121 stores, excluding locations without fitting rooms or menswear-only shops. Four flagship stores — Shin-Marunouchi, Ebisu, Tennoji and Sapporo — are also giving over their street-facing windows to campaign artwork by illustrator Saho Wajimaya through October 30. BEAMS is distributing samples of an In-Bath Body Serum (0.8ml) from Wacoal's femcare brand YOJOY with an information card on self-checks, under the campaign line "知る、想う、続ける。Wear. Care. Repeat."

Ten straight years is long enough that this reads less as a seasonal marketing push than as a fixture of how BEAMS uses its floor space. Fitting rooms — the one part of a clothing store where a customer is alone and undressed — are a genuinely well-chosen venue for a self-check prompt, and partnering with an underwear maker's wellness sub-brand rather than a cosmetics counter keeps the message tied to the body rather than to a product sale.
