CFCL to open Isetan Shinjuku store, its only one carrying seasonal exclusives
CFCL's new Isetan Shinjuku shop won't just be another door — it will be the only place in the label's own network carrying its seasonal exclusives.

CFCL will open a new directly run store on the third floor of Isetan Shinjuku's Main Building on September 2, the Japanese label said in a release on its own site. Sited in the International Designers East section, the store will carry CFCL's new-season collections and its core BASICS line and, according to the brand, will be the only one of its directly run stores to also stock seasonal limited-edition pieces each season.
CFCL, the label built around computer-programmed knitting techniques by former Issey Miyake designer Yusuke Takahashi, has grown mostly through freestanding boutiques since its 2020 launch. Putting its most exclusive product on a department-store floor is a bet that Isetan Shinjuku's client base, and its standing as a fashion-industry proving ground, are worth trading some of that independence for — a Product and Presentation call as much as a real-estate one.
