BEAMS brings Tiger Woods' SUN DAY RED to Japan for the first time

BEAMS has signed a Japan distribution deal for SUN DAY RED, the golf-and-lifestyle label built around Tiger Woods, launching it first at a tournament pop-up this week before giving it a single exclusive retail home at BEAMS GOLF Yurakucho.

BEAMS said in a release dated October 5 that it has signed a partnership agreement with Sunday Red, LLC to bring SUN DAY RED — the golf and lifestyle brand built around golf legend Tiger Woods — into Japan for the first time.

The brand's Japan debut starts on a golf course rather than a shop floor. BEAMS will run a pop-up shop at Yokohama Country Club through the Baycurrent Classic 2026 tournament, from October 8 to 11, before SUN DAY RED gets a permanent, exclusive home at BEAMS GOLF Yurakucho, where sales begin October 16.

BEAMS described the line as built for golf's technical demands while doubling as gym, office and everyday wear, calling the products sophisticated rather than tour-specific. The release gave no pricing and named no retail partner beyond its own Yurakucho store, so for now BEAMS GOLF Yurakucho is the only place in Japan selling SUN DAY RED off the course.

The sequencing is the tell. A tournament pop-up draws galleries and sponsorship attention that a quiet store opening never could, and BEAMS — Japan's largest select-shop operator, with its own golf banner already built out — is using tournament week to introduce the brand before it has to prove itself on a sales floor alone. Whether SUN DAY RED stays a single-door exclusive or spreads across BEAMS GOLF's wider network will say more about Japanese appetite for Tiger Woods' label than the pop-up ever will.

BEAMS, which marks 50 years since opening its first Harajuku store in 1976, now operates roughly 170 stores across Japan and Asia — scale that makes even a single exclusive door for SUN DAY RED a meaningful test bed before any wider rollout.
