Bulgari brings the laser-etched Octo Finissimo Dazzle to Japan at ¥2.89m
Bulgari has added a new finish to its ultra-thin titanium sports watch: a laser-engraved dazzle-camouflage pattern meant to blur the case's own edges, timed to this week's Geneva Watch Days.
Bulgari's Japan operation has launched the Octo Finissimo Dazzle, a titanium watch whose case and bracelet are laser-engraved across their entire surface with a geometric pattern drawn from dazzle camouflage — the angular, disruptive-pattern technique originally used to break up a ship's outline — according to a release on Bulgari Japan's own PR TIMES newsroom.
The watch runs on Bulgari's BVL138 ultra-thin automatic movement, just 2.23mm thick, beating at 21,600 vibrations an hour with a 60-hour power reserve and a small-seconds display. The case measures 40mm across and 5.15mm thick, with a black ceramic insert on the crown, an opaline titanium dial and 30 metres of water resistance. It is priced at ¥2,893,000, tax included, the company said.
The release lands the same week as Geneva Watch Days (September 2-4), where Bulgari is presenting a run of new titanium pieces — putting the Japan launch on the same clock as the brand's global unveiling rather than trailing it, as regional rollouts sometimes do. Bulgari described the pattern as pushing the watch away from pure timekeeping and toward an object valued for its surface alone, according to the release.
The Octo Finissimo line has been Bulgari's vehicle for record-thin titanium watchmaking since 2014; a camouflage finish is a smaller bet than a new movement, but it keeps the case itself — not just what is inside it — part of the story the brand is telling this week.
