Clarks opens its first Kanagawa store — and fourth under a redesigned concept — at LaLaport Yokohama

Clarks is opening its first Kanagawa store — and the fourth built to a redesigned, minimalist shop concept — inside LaLaport Yokohama on November 6, a concrete sign of which heritage import brands are getting new-format space in Mitsui Fudosan's malls.

Clarks Japan said it will open a store at LaLaport Yokohama (ららぽーと横浜) on November 6 — its first in Kanagawa Prefecture and the fourth built to the British footwear brand's newly redesigned store concept — according to a release on the company's own PR TIMES newsroom, dated October 30. The release prints the opening year as 2027, but the Friday it also names for the date matches 2026, not 2027; floortok treats the opening as November 6, 2026.

The roughly 69-square-metre store (about 20.99 tsubo), on LaLaport Yokohama's first floor in Tsuzuki-ku, carries more than 130 styles for men and women, including Clarks' icon models and newest collections, plus bags and umbrellas, categories the release describes as new additions to its shop assortment. The design departs from Clarks' long-standing green-and-warm-wood look for a minimalist, stainless-steel-and-grey fit-out — the fourth Japan store to carry it.

LaLaport Yokohama is one of Mitsui Fudosan's larger suburban malls, and taking a redesigned format Clarks has so far tested in just three other locations into a Kanagawa flagship-scale mall gives the brand a fourth, larger data point on whether the stripped-back look works outside its original sites — and gives the LaLaport network one more heritage footwear import rebuilt around a look that has nothing to do with its own past stores.
