VIRTÙ, Four Seasons Tokyo's 39th-floor bar, returns to the World's 50 Best Bars list — one of five Tokyo entries on the full ranking

VIRTÙ, the 39th-floor bar at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi, placed No. 48 on The World's 50 Best Bars 2026 for a third straight year — and the organiser's own full list shows it is one of five Tokyo bars among the 100 ranked worldwide, more than any other city in Japan.

VIRTÙ, the bar on the 39th floor of Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi, placed No. 48 on The World's 50 Best Bars 2026, the organisation's own ranking confirmed, extending its run on the list to a third consecutive year, according to a release from the hotel dated October 8.

The bar sits in an Art Deco room with the city skyline as a backdrop and artwork drawing on both Tokyo and France, the hotel said. Its cocktail menu pairs vintage French spirits and rare cognacs with Japanese spirits and ingredients, built around what the hotel describes as rituals and folklore, in a concept it frames as merging Parisian romance with Tokyo's modern style.

"No better place in the city for a Martini than at Virtù," Uday Rao, regional vice president and general manager of Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi, said.

The placing adds to a run of outside recognition for the bar, which the hotel said has also made Asia's 50 Best Bars list for a fourth consecutive year and was named one of Forbes Travel Guide's Best Hotel Bars for 2025. Two more Four Seasons properties made this year's World's 50 Best Bars list, the hotel noted: ARGO at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, and BKK Social Club at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River.

Tokyo's wider showing

VIRTÙ's placing sits inside a bigger Tokyo presence on the ranking than the hotel's release lets on. The organiser's own published list, covering the full 100 bars it names each year, carries five Tokyo entries and no bars from any other Japanese city. Bar Benfiddich, an independent bar with no hotel or group behind it, ranked No. 44, just ahead of VIRTÙ. Three more Tokyo bars appear on the extended 51-100 list the organiser releases separately: Bar Trench at No. 74, The SG Club at No. 88, and The Bellwood at No. 100.

The mix is the point. A five-star hotel bar with a regional operator's marketing reach behind it sits in the same 100 as four independently owned, bartender-led rooms with none — evidence that Tokyo's strength in this ranking runs wider than any one property's programme. For a hotel competing on more than room rates, a bar with repeat global recognition is also a reason to ride to the top floor and stay for a drink rather than just a room night. floortok has tracked Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi's run of outside recognition this year, including its Michelin Keys distinction in September; this time the validation lands on the bar programme, not the rooms.
