Goldwin puts a digital product passport on a J.League kit for the first time
A limited 2026/2027 kit for J2 club Kataller Toyama carries a QR-linked digital product passport holding material composition, CO2 data, repair and recycling information — a first for an official J.League uniform, run with CYKLUS and NTT Docomo Business.

Goldwin has put a digital product passport on an official J.League uniform for the first time, the company said in a release dated 22 August. The kit is a limited 2026/2027-season shirt for Kataller Toyama, the J2 club Goldwin supplies, and went on sale the same day at ¥25,300 including tax through the club's official online store and Taiyo Sports in Toyama.
A QR code on the garment opens a record of the product: material composition and specifications, the design concept and its background, CO2 emissions and other environmental data, care instructions, repair-service information, and details on recycling and reuse. Goldwin is running the pilot with CYKLUS and NTT Docomo Business. The shirt body is 100% polyester, 44% of it recycled; the side panels and sleeves are 87% polyester and 13% cupro.
The design carries the Tateyama mountain range in Kataller blue on dark navy, with the phrase 「富山を背負え。」— carry Toyama on your shoulders — embroidered inside the collar. Sizes run S to XO and YO; names and numbers cost extra.
The mechanism matters more than the match. A digital product passport is the instrument the European Union's ecodesign regulation is building towards for textiles, and the operational question for any apparel business is not whether the data exists but whether it can be attached to a single garment, kept accurate, and read by an ordinary customer holding a phone. A club shirt is an unusually good place to test that: the run is finite, the buyer is motivated, and the object is one people keep rather than cycle out.
Goldwin frames it as sharing a story so that supporters can know what is behind the shirt and extend the circle of action across Toyama. Read commercially, it is a supplier using a regional club as a controlled first deployment of infrastructure it will need across a much larger catalogue.
