Hankyu Umeda's autumn luxury floors open with a Giorgio Armani archive and a season of jewellery and watch exclusives
Hankyu Umeda's main store is running a month-long, landlord-programmed season across its luxury floors from 26 August, opening with a Giorgio Armani archive exhibition and moving through a Fendi collection debut and a Tod's pop-up, alongside a season-long run of jewellery and watch exclusives — a read on how Japan's top-selling luxury floor is curating for the new season.

Hankyu Umeda's main store is running a month-long luxury-floor programme titled “TIME IS BEAUTIFUL / HANKYU LUXURY” from 26 August to 22 September, spanning its fifth- and sixth-floor international boutiques, jewellery gallery and watch gallery, according to a release from operator Hankyu Hanshin Department Stores distributed via PR TIMES on 24 August.
The programme opens with an archive exhibition from Giorgio Armani, titled “ARMANI / Archivio,” and a pop-up for Zenith's Chronomaster Solo Sport, both running 26 August to 8 September on the fifth floor, the release said.
Fendi's autumn/winter 2026-27 collection follows on the same floor from 9 to 22 September, while Tod's runs a ground-floor pop-up called “Autunno Italiano,” with artisan demonstrations, from 9 to 15 September, according to the release.
For the run of the programme, the store's jewellery gallery is hosting Bulgari, Chopard, Boucheron, Damiani, Fred and Graff among others, and its watch gallery is running exclusives from Baume & Mercier, Breitling, Omega, IWC and Hublot, the release said, without giving individual dates for those brands' activities.
The programme is a Place-and-Presentation move more than a Product one: rather than launching new stock in isolation, Hankyu Umeda is sequencing a heritage exhibition, a runway collection and hands-on pop-ups across the same six weeks, so each maison's moment on the floor benefits from the traffic the others bring. For a department store, coordinating that calendar — rather than leaving each concession to programme its own events — is one of the clearest ways landlords can still add value on floors where the brands themselves control pricing and product.
