Louis Vuitton Japan publishes a Travel Book for an entirely fictional destination, built around League of Legends' K/DA

Louis Vuitton Japan's latest Travel Book, Tempo Point, is the series' first entirely fictional destination, built with Riot Games' virtual group K/DA from League of Legends -- priced in yen and sold through the house's own Japan boutiques, with a 30-copy signed edition bundling a vinyl record of four unreleased tracks.

Louis Vuitton Japan said it published Tempo Point (テンポ・ポイント) on October 16, the newest title in its Travel Book series and, the house said, the first in the series set in a wholly fictional destination rather than a real city. The book was made with Riot Games' K/DA, the virtual group built around four League of Legends champions -- Ahri, Evelynn, Kai'Sa and Akali -- which debuted in 2018 with the single "POP/STARS."

The standard edition runs ¥6,820 tax included across 122 pages; a large-format edition, limited to 400 copies, costs ¥25,300. A further 30 copies form a numbered, signed limited edition in leather binding with its own case, made at a workshop in Padua, Italy, and sold only at select Louis Vuitton stores in Japan -- each bundled with a vinyl record carrying four unreleased K/DA tracks: "Firestarter," "Watch Me," "Never Going Back" and "Girls," the last featuring DJ Sona. The book itself collects about 70 drawings by artists from around the world alongside K/DA profiles and travel writing, printed in seven colours and published in French, English and Chinese.

A gaming-IP crossover usually lives in a brand's marketing calendar, not its publishing catalogue. Putting K/DA inside the Travel Book series -- priced in yen, sold through the house's own Japan stores -- places a Riot Games collaboration next to Louis Vuitton's usual city guides as a Japan-market product in its own right, not just a campaign tie-in translated for the market.
