HIKAKIN's Misokin ramen brand makes its Kansai debut at Abeno Q's Mall

Misokin, the instant-ramen brand fronted by YouTuber HIKAKIN, has opened its first Kansai restaurant at Tokyu Land SC Management's Abeno Q's Mall — only its third physical site in nearly two years, even as cup-noodle sales pass 60 million units.

Tokyu Land SC Management opened Misokin, the instant-ramen brand fronted by YouTuber HIKAKIN, on the fourth floor of Abeno Q's Mall in Osaka's Abeno ward on 1 August — the brand's first restaurant in Kansai, the company said.

The 230-square-metre, 46-seat restaurant — reservation-only, with seven four-person tables and nine two-person tables — is only Misokin's third physical location. A Tokyo Ramen Street outpost closed in February 2025, leaving an Ikebukuro store as the brand's sole restaurant before the Osaka opening, according to the release.

Cumulative sales across Misokin's packaged cup-noodle series have passed 60 million units, and its restaurants have served more than 180,000 bowls in total, Tokyu Land SC Management said. The Osaka store's menu runs from ¥1,380 for an egg-topped bowl to ¥1,700 for a spicy version. An opening-day event for 800 guests, filled through a lottery run on the mall's official LINE account, preceded the restaurant's noon opening to the public.

The Kansai debut says more about tenant strategy than the size of the store. Mall operators are increasingly courting creator-led food brands as an anchor draw, betting that a queue for a HIKAKIN-branded ramen counter pulls footfall that a conventional restaurant tenant no longer guarantees. That Misokin has expanded to only a third physical site since debuting suggests the brand is treating its restaurants as a curated, scarcity-driven extension of a retail business built on packaged noodles, not a chain to scale quickly.
