PPIH sets February 2027 dates for three more Olympic-to-Donki conversions, and names a 2029 finish line

Pan Pacific International Holdings, Don Quijote and Olympic Group said three more Olympic stores will reopen under the MEGA Don Quijote and Robin Hood banners in February 2027, bringing this year's format conversions to eight -- and for the first time put a date, October 2029, on finishing the rollout.

Pan Pacific International Holdings Corporation (株式会社パン・パシフィック・インターナショナルホールディングス, PPIH), together with subsidiary Don Quijote, Inc. (株式会社ドン・キホーテ) and Olympic Group Co., Ltd. (株式会社Olympicグループ), said on November 2 that three more Olympic Group stores will reopen under PPIH's Donki-family formats in February 2027, continuing the company's conversion of the home-and-sporting-goods chain.

Olympic Seijo (Olympic成城店) in Setagaya, Tokyo, becomes Robin Hood Seijo (ロビン・フッド成城店) on February 2, 2027. Olympic Olive Chiba-Sakuragi (Olympicおりーぶ千葉桜木店) in Chiba City's Wakaba ward becomes MEGA Don Quijote Olympic Chiba-Sakuragi (MEGAドン・キホーテOlympic千葉桜木店) on February 23. Olympic Olive Higashi-Totsuka (Olympicおりーぶ東戸塚店) in Yokohama's Totsuka ward becomes MEGA Don Quijote Olympic Higashi-Totsuka (MEGAドン・キホーテOlympic東戸塚店) on February 24. PPIH said the new names and opening dates are provisional and subject to change, with further details on each store to follow.

These three bring the year's total of format-converted Olympic stores to eight, PPIH said. The company said it will keep converting Olympic Group stores into MEGA Don Quijote, Don Quijote or the smaller-format Robin Hood banner according to each location's characteristics, and for the first time gave a target date for finishing the rollout: October 2029.

The conversions read as a Place strategy rather than a product one: PPIH is not opening new sites so much as re-badging a footprint it already controls, trading Olympic's standalone home-and-sporting-goods identity for the traffic-pulling MEGA Don Quijote and Don Quijote formats, or for Robin Hood, its smaller banner. Naming a 2029 completion date for the first time gives landlords and the wider Japanese retail property market the clearest timeline yet for how the Donki-family footprint will eventually run, though PPIH's release does not say how many Olympic locations remain to convert after these eight.
