Nagoya's Sakae Mitsukoshi rebuilds four floors for autumn, from watches to wellness
Nagoya Mitsukoshi is rebuilding four floors of its Sakae flagship this autumn — cosmetics and jewellery on 1F, fashion on 2F and 5F, a new café on 6F — timed, by its own account, to fresh commercial and office development rising nearby in Sakae.

Nagoya Mitsukoshi is renewing four floors of its Sakae store this autumn — 1F, 2F, 5F and 6F — in a phased rollout that began August 19 and runs into September, the company announced. floortok reported on one piece of the renewal already, Orlane's new cosmetics counter on 1F; the fuller renewal spans cosmetics, watches and jewellery, fashion and a new wellness floor.
On 1F, alongside Orlane's August 19 opening, Nagoya Mitsukoshi added Lovechrom and refreshed its Swatch space on August 28, both described as exclusive to the Tokai region. Pomellato is due to reopen on the floor September 12 as what the store calls a Sakae-district exclusive.
2F gains Diesel, the Italian casual and denim label, from September 18 — a return to the store. 5F, the fashion floor, adds two Tokai-region exclusives on September 16: a "Wellness Hub" store carrying yoga and fitness brands including Suria, S.N. SuperNatural and Anleandbeibe, and MacGregor & MacGregor, a menswear-and-golf shop built around the New York label founded in 1921.
6F gets Kihachi Café, opened August 28 as another Tokai-region exclusive, positioned as a rest stop for shoppers with coffee, tea, seasonal sweets and globally inspired food.
Nagoya Mitsukoshi frames the timing against new commercial facilities and office towers opening nearby in Sakae, and expects an international sporting event this autumn to lift visitor traffic through the district. That is a Place-and-Presentation move as much as a merchandising one: stacking Tokai- and Sakae-exclusive openings across four floors at once gives shoppers a reason to choose the Isetan Mitsukoshi flagship over whatever opens next door, rather than waiting for one tenant change to do the work.
