JR East's Atre puts a 70-shop building on top of Nakano's new ticket gate

Atre, JR East's station-building operator, said it will open Atre Nakano on 9 December 2026 — a five-floor, roughly 70-shop retail building sitting directly on a new ticket gate, part of a wider Nakano Station redevelopment run with Nakano Ward, UR and JR East.

Atre, the station-building operator in the JR East group, said on 7 July that it will open Atre Nakano on 9 December 2026, directly above a newly built ticket gate on the west side of Nakano Station in Tokyo. According to the company, the building runs to about 16,800 square metres of total floor space across five above-ground storeys, with roughly 7,300 square metres of that given over to shops — about 70 in all.
