Barneys Japan has given the Japanese fine-jewelry label PREEK its first placement at any Barneys New York store, with a pop-up running from 28 August to 13 September at the retailer's Ginza flagship.

According to Barneys Japan's announcement, PREEK was founded in 2018 by designer Yoshisumi Ashizawa, who works largely in baroque pearls and hand-carved natural stone set on sterling silver frames, drawing on traditional Japanese aesthetics. Ashizawa was at the pop-up in person across two afternoon sessions on 28 and 29 August, offering sizing and colour-stone consultations. The event carries PREEK's new autumn/winter designs alongside pieces the company said are not normally available at its regular stockists, including a run of loose stones and semi-custom colour options.

It is a small, time-limited placement rather than a permanent concession. But for an independent domestic jewelry label, a first Barneys booking is still a genuine credibility marker for building visibility beyond its own direct channels.
