Portuguese beauty house Benamôr makes its Japan debut with a four-city pop-up run
Benamôr, a century-old Portuguese beauty house, is testing Japan with pop-ups at five department-store counters across four cities from September 22 — a distributor's standard way to gauge demand before a permanent counter.

Benamôr, a Portuguese botanical beauty house founded in Lisbon in 1925, will hold its first pop-up shops in Japan from September 22, according to a release its Japanese distributor, Innoh Associates, posted August 31 on PR TIMES. The run spans five locations across four cities: two counters at Sogo Yokohama, plus one each at Sogo Hiroshima, Yurakucho Marui and Abeno Harukas Kintetsu.
Innoh Associates describes the brand's formulas as using up to 99% naturally derived ingredients, built around a nostalgic, Art Deco-inspired packaging design. Among the items on offer are gift sets combining hand cream and lip products, priced from ¥3,960 to ¥4,950.
Launching across five counters in four cities at once, rather than a single Tokyo flagship, is the standard playbook for a distributor testing a new foreign beauty brand's reception before committing to a permanent counter: it spreads the debut across department-store beauty floors in Kanto, Kansai and regional Hiroshima simultaneously, reading demand in several markets at once. The sub-¥5,000 gift-set price point also positions Benamôr at the entry-level, self-gifting end of the depachika beauty trade rather than as a prestige skincare launch.
Whether the brand earns a lasting Japan presence will depend on how those five counters perform once the pop-ups end.
