Mitsui Fudosan's hotel portfolio holds six MICHELIN Keys for a third straight year
Six hotels across Mitsui Fudosan's Japan portfolio — spanning Aman, Bulgari, Halekulani and Four Seasons alongside its own brands — kept their MICHELIN Keys for a third consecutive year, a group-level validation of the developer's luxury-hotel bets as two more high-end openings approach.

Mitsui Fudosan said six hotels across its Japan hotel portfolio kept their MICHELIN Keys ratings for a third consecutive year in the guide's 2026 selection, spanning four different operators it has developed or invested in, according to a release dated September 25.
Four of the six hold the top tier of three Keys: HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO, which the developer runs under its own luxury brand; Amanemu, the Aman-branded retreat in Shima, Mie Prefecture; Bulgari Hotel Tokyo; and Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi, whose own three-year run floortok has already reported. Halekulani Okinawa holds two Keys, and Hotel The Celestine Kyoto Gion, another in-house brand, holds one, Mitsui Fudosan said.
The six properties sit inside a hotel business Mitsui Fudosan said spans 52 facilities and roughly 13,000 rooms, from budget-to-midscale chains such as Mitsui Garden Hotels and Sequence up to eight resort and luxury properties. The company has two more high-end openings on the way: HOTEL THE MITSUI HAKONE in December 2026, and a Waldorf Astoria in Tokyo's Nihonbashi district, developed with Hilton, in autumn 2027.
Read as a single hotel's story, a third straight year of Keys is a nice footnote for whichever guest wrote a five-star review anyway. Read at the group level, it says something about Mitsui Fudosan's model rather than any one operator's kitchen or spa: the developer has now put its capital behind Aman, Bulgari, Halekulani and Four Seasons as well as its own Celestine and Mitsui Kyoto brands, and every one of those bets is clearing the same external bar, in the same year, across sites as different as Kyoto, Tokyo and Okinawa. That is a stronger signal for the Hakone and Nihonbashi openings still to come than any single property's write-up could be — and a reason for maisons and landlords near each address to treat a Mitsui Fudosan luxury address as a serious traffic draw, not just a name on a map.
