Albion sends PAUL & JOE BEAUTE into duty-free at Narita, while opening three new counters across Tokyo
Cosmetics maker Albion has placed its PAUL & JOE BEAUTE brand inside a Narita Airport duty-free counter for the first time, alongside three new self-service counters opening across Tokyo within the same fortnight — a travel-retail move that reaches a different customer than another shop-in-shop ever could.

Albion said its PAUL & JOE BEAUTE cosmetics brand has opened a counter inside Narita Airport's Terminal 2, its first placement in the airport's duty-free zone, according to the company's own announcement. The counter sits within the Fa-So-La Duty Free Cosmetics & Perfumery unit on the third floor of the Main Building, past security in the international departure area, and opened on 4 September with hours of 7:30am to 10pm.
The Narita counter carries the brand's primer — which Albion described as one of its most popular products — alongside items exclusive to duty-free, and marked its opening with a raffle and a branded tote bag for purchases of ¥7,000 or more.
Separately, Albion said PAUL & JOE BEAUTE is opening three new self-service counters in the Tokyo area within the same two-week span: at Shibuya109's Dress Table by ShinQs Beauty Palette (1 September), inside Lumine Yurakucho's @cosme Store (10 September) and at Lumine Kita-Senju's Isetan Mirror, where the counter foregrounds the brand's primers and lipsticks (14 September). All three carry a gift pouch for purchases of ¥5,500 or more, while supplies last, the company said.
A duty-free counter reaches a different shopper entirely from a self-service stand inside a Tokyo shopping complex: an outbound or inbound traveller with cash to spend and little time to browse, rather than a repeat domestic customer. For a mid-tier prestige brand like PAUL & JOE BEAUTE, clearing a duty-free operator's own bar for sales per square metre is arguably a bigger vote of confidence than another shop-in-shop — even one inside a landmark like Shibuya109.
