Ralph Lauren picks Tokyo to launch PoloFest, its new global event series
Ralph Lauren has brought PoloFest, the first stop in a new global series of Polo gatherings ahead of its 60th anniversary, to Tokyo's Jing Harajuku from October 23 to 25 -- choosing Japan, over any other market, to open the archive, the vintage marketplace and the ticketing through LINE.

Ralph Lauren Corporation is running PoloFest, a three-day event, at Jing Harajuku in Tokyo's Shibuya district from October 23 to 25, the company said. The brand's own newsroom describes it as the first stop in a new, ongoing series of local Polo gatherings being staged in different cities in the run-up to Ralph Lauren's 60th anniversary in 2027 -- meaning Tokyo, not New York or London, is where the series opens.
The programme includes a curated archival exhibition of rare and iconic Polo pieces, a speaker series on the brand's creative influences and community, and a vintage marketplace bringing together 17 collectors and dealers from around the world. Ralph Lauren is also selling exclusive merchandise made for the event, including one-of-a-kind upcycled Polo pieces reworked by local artisans using traditional Japanese mending techniques. Admission is free, but tickets are distributed only through Ralph Lauren's LINE membership community -- Japan's dominant messaging app, and the channel the brand has chosen as the sole gate to a global flagship event.
Ralph Lauren's release notes that Polo first launched in Japan in 1976 -- just short of 50 years ago -- but frames PoloFest around the brand's upcoming 60th global anniversary rather than any Japan-specific milestone. Even so, putting the archive, the vintage trade and the exclusive merchandise in Harajuku first is itself the Japan read: a long-running, serious vintage-Americana collector culture here is exactly the audience a Polo archive show and a 17-dealer vintage market are built for, and a global brand choosing Tokyo as the place to test that format says as much about Japan's weight in that culture as any anniversary framing would.
