Takashimaya Osaka opens a 19-day Curious George character market on its 7th-floor event hall
A 19-day Curious George goods market takes over Takashimaya Osaka's seventh-floor hall, with three Sundays of timed meet-and-greets and a spend-based gift to keep shoppers coming back.

Takashimaya Co., Ltd. (株式会社髙島屋) said it will open "Curious George Ukiuki Market" (おさるのジョージ うきうきマーケット) in the seventh-floor event hall of its Osaka flagship (高島屋大阪店) from November 5 to 23, according to an October 27 announcement. The market runs to 7pm daily, closing at 6pm on its final day.
The release lists plush toys, kitchenware, towels and general household goods carrying the Curious George (おさるのジョージ) character, with several items exclusive to the event: a memo pad in beige or blue at ¥495, a "George's Shopping" mini towel at ¥880, and a blue AYANOKOJI card case at ¥3,300. Among the wider goods range are six styles of GPSBOX plush figures at ¥1,980 each, a four-style GPSBOX figure-rush line at ¥2,420 each, a washable bean-filled George figure at ¥2,750, and a 300-piece "George's Everyday" (ジョージの日常) jigsaw puzzle at ¥2,200. Takashimaya's release does not describe any item as a first-time release.
Customers who spend ¥3,300 or more at the venue on a single receipt get an original drawstring pouch, while stocks last, one per person. On three Sundays during the run -- November 8, 15 and 22 -- the market holds timed meet-and-greets with the character at 11:30am and 3pm, each running about 30 minutes and capped at 30 groups, booked in advance; a separate photo spot sits on the seventh floor of the store's Namba Dining Maison (なんばダイニングメゾン) restaurant floor.
The mechanics here are standard for a character-licensing event-hall run: a 19-day span built around three bookable Sunday meet-and-greets to pull repeat visits rather than a single trip, a spend threshold with a limited giveaway to nudge up basket size, and goods pitched across a wide price band from a ¥495 memo pad to a ¥3,300 card case. For a seventh floor that cycles between exhibitions through November, it is the kind of routine, family-oriented booking that keeps the hall occupied between the bigger ticketed shows.
