The Frankie Shop makes its first direct Japan sale, at a Shibuya PARCO pop-up

The Frankie Shop sells directly in Japan for the first time, testing Shibuya PARCO with a nine-day pop-up before any commitment to a standing store.

THE FRANKIE SHOP is opening its first pop-up in Japan, and for the first time will sell directly to Japanese shoppers rather than through resellers. Seiya Nakamura 2.24, a Tokyo company working with the brand, said in an October 19 press release that THE FRANKIE SHOP POPUP AT Shibuya PARCO runs October 23 to November 1 on the first floor's "GATE" space, open 11am to 9pm daily.

The New York label was founded in 2015 by French-born designer Gaëlle Drevet and now also has stores in Paris and Milan, known for a mix of relaxed and structured tailoring. The pop-up carries a selection from its autumn/winter 2026 collection — sharper shoulders and clearer silhouettes this season, worked in leather, cashmere, angora, shearling and faux fur, in a palette built on forest green and cool grey with teal, red, yellow and chartreuse accents, the release said.

The shop doubles as a small gallery. About 100 black-and-white photographs by Paris-based, self-taught photographer Olivier Kervern — shot over 15 years in Italy, Iran, the US, France, Argentina, South Korea and Japan on a Yashica 124 medium-format camera, each a hand-printed 6x6cm contact print from his Paris home — will be on show, alongside a limited-edition photobook of his work published for the event.

Until now the brand has not sold directly in Japan, according to the release, which makes a nine-day run on a Shibuya PARCO ground-floor space a limited test of the market rather than a standing store.
