Mori Building lights up five Hills districts at once for its 20th Roppongi Hills Christmas Market

Mori Building is coordinating Christmas programming across five Tokyo districts — Roppongi Hills, Azabudai Hills, Toranomon Hills, Omotesando Hills and Ark Hills — for a second year running, built this year around a 20th-anniversary edition of Roppongi Hills' long-running Christmas market, the footfall driver for the floors under nearly every maison boutique in those five districts heading into the year-end selling season.

Mori Building said it will run "CHRISTMAS HILLS 2026," a coordinated Christmas campaign across the five Tokyo districts it operates — Roppongi Hills, Azabudai Hills, Toranomon Hills, Omotesando Hills and Ark Hills — continuing a format it also ran last year, according to a press release dated September 30. The campaign opens November 5 with Roppongi Hills' Keyaki-zaka Illumination, themed "SNOW&BLUE" along roughly 400 metres of the Keyakizaka street, and runs through December 25 at most venues.

Each district gets its own programme

Every district carries its own schedule, tied together by one key visual — illustrated this year by Mexico City-based artist Daniel Barrett for Japan Design Center's Misawa Design Lab, under the tagline "Bi, Bi, Di, Bo, Bi, Di, You." Roppongi Hills adds illuminations at 66 Plaza and Mouri Garden (both from November 13), a Christmas tree installation in its West Walk atrium, and its marquee event: the 20th edition of the Roppongi Hills Christmas Market, running November 21 to December 25 with ten stalls recreating a German Christmas market, including the specialist retailer Käthe Wohlfahrt, Mori Building said.

Azabudai Hills runs its own Christmas Market over the same dates, with 19 stalls — four selling goods, fifteen food and drink — around an arched gate in its central plaza. Toranomon Hills' programme, themed "COSMIC HOLIDAY," runs November 12 to December 25, centred on a "THE WONDER OF CHRISTMAS" tree installation in its Station Atrium from November 24. Omotesando Hills is planning to light its zelkova-lined avenue from December 1 to 25, and Ark Hills is planning a tree display at Ark Karayan Plaza from November 7, alongside Christmas-themed editions of its regular Hills Marché and Akasaka flea market, the company said.

Across all five districts, Mori Building is also running Christmas food and gift promotions from November 12, reviving its "wish a wish" letter campaign at Roppongi and Azabudai Hills from December 1, and running a stamp rally that rewards a ¥1,000 shopping voucher to anyone who spends at least ¥1,000 in a single purchase at three of the five Hills during the campaign — a mechanic designed explicitly to route shoppers between districts rather than let each stand alone.

For the maison boutiques spread across these five addresses, the campaign functions less as decoration than as a coordinated footfall engine heading into the year's biggest gift-giving stretch — and the cross-Hills stamp rally in particular is a direct bet that a shopper drawn in by one district's illumination or market can be routed on to buy at another.
